How to choose a dog dad gift
Most dog dads already have the basics. The gifts that land tie his dog to something he already spends time on.
| If he loves... | Get him... | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Hiking and the outdoors | Trail gear, a car hammock or a trail day | He and the dog use it every weekend |
| Grilling | An engraved grill tool or the Father's Day grill video | It puts his dog right next to him at the grill |
| His desk or office | A custom portrait or a photo mug | He sees his dog all day |
| Training and projects | An agility or training class together | Time with his dog is the gift |
| Keeping it simple | An engraved keychain with the dog's name | Small, useful, and he'll carry it daily |
If you're still stuck, ask what his dog needs. A new leash, a tougher toy or a better bed for the dog is often the gift he'd pick for himself.

Personalized dog dad gifts that feel like him
Personalized dog dad gifts work when the details are right. Before you order:
- Get the name right. Check the dog's tag or his social captions. Include a nickname if that's what he actually calls the dog.
- Pick a clear photo. Daylight, eye level, face in focus. Photos from his phone or his posts are usually best.
- Match his style. If his style is low-key, leather, wood and brushed metal are safe bets.
- Plan for lead time. Engraving and printing often take a week or more. Hand-painted portraits take longer.

Dog dad Father's Day gifts from the dog
"Happy Father's Day from the dog" is one of the easiest traditions to start. A few ways to make the gift come from the dog:
- A card with a paw print signature. Press a clean, damp paw onto card stock, or use a pet-safe ink pad.
- The dog delivers it. Set a small gift bag next to the dog for the reveal, or let a dog who likes to carry things bring it over.
- A morning walk he doesn't have to plan. Pack coffee, pick a new trail, bring the dog.
- A video message from the dog. Our Father's Day From the Pet template shows his own dog in a tiny necktie flipping burgers, ending on a card that says Happy Father's Day with your words.
You send 5 to 10 photos, a person checks the video, and it's ready within 24 hours. One video is $39, with vertical, square and widescreen versions, a movie-poster still, and free gift delivery on the day you pick. If it doesn't look like his dog, we remake it, and if the remake still misses, you get your money back. The Pet's Year pack is $79 for 3 videos of the same dog to use within 12 months, so his birthday and the holidays are covered too.

If he has everything, a donation in his dog's name can mean more than another gadget. Pick the rescue his dog came from, a local shelter, or a breed rescue for his dog's breed. Ask whether they can send a note or receipt in the dog's name to tuck into a card.
Shelters also welcome time. An afternoon of volunteering together, walking dogs who are waiting for homes, is a gift that costs nothing.
